Herbet White was a bouncer at Harlem's Savoy Ballroom (centered), who put together a group of young talented dancers, who eventually traveled the world and did film appearances performing the Lindy Hop dance, which came from Harlem.

The troupe was performing at the Cotton Club while filming ‘A Day at the Races’ with the Marx Brothers. The Barn scene in the Film, was shot inside the Cotton Club.

This was not Whitey's first trip to Los Angeles, they came in 1935 as well as 1941, following that time Pepsie Bethel also brought a team called the Jive Bombers to Los Angeles, which stayed extensively.
